So I'm new to this whole ATO stuff I've always just filled 5 gallon buckets and mixed the salt to top off and do water changes but I'm tired of the work it involves. I'll be purchasing a ATO soon and I'm not sure exactly how to do the setup. How does everyone have theirs setup? Is there a way to have it to where I run my RO/DI line to a reservoir and have a switch that will shut off the RO once it's full instead of always shutting the water supply off or do you just refill the container as it starts to get low and always manually turn the RO supply on and off? Also how does everyone run the plumbing to their sump. I'm thinking of going with the tunze ATO. Hopefully that all made sense lol. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

yes you can have it shut off. I have the RODI unit fill 2 25 gallon tanks in my garage. Each tank has a float valve, when the float valve goes up the water stops coming out of the RODI line and the RODI shuts off.

Add a Reverse Osmosis Float Valve from BRS. What RO system do you have. Need to make sure it will shut off

I don't have one yet. I want to make sure the one I get will do exactly what I need. I'm thinking about getting the tunze osmolator but I don't know a whole lot about the ATO's. Never had one and I don't know anyone that uses one.

Float valves here too. I have 2 brutt cans one for a ato and another for water change saltwater. Your not using saltwater for your topoff water are you?

Not for my top off I won't. My tank isn't set up yet. I'm getting EVERYTHING I need before I fire it up. I've done reefs in the past but cut corners and made some rookie mistakes lol Learned alot from taking the easy route this time I'm being patient and making sure it's all done right the first time!

I use the tunze also. I've tried a few but it has worked the best for me.

This is what I am using

So let me make sure I am seeing this correctly lol you have float valves in each container and have a T connection splitting off from your RO to each container and ball valves so you can shutt off the one that doesn't need filled?

Awesome! That helps tremendously. That's exactly the kind of setup I'm looking for.
