Hi all, I am having a problem with my ato. I should say the ato works like it should but my water level drops to much. Let me explain. I have a 29 gallon tall tank with a rim. My ato is a hydor. I do not have a sump so the sensor is in my main tank. The water level drops 3/8 an inch on the display and my tom's aqua lifter cannot refill it back up in time so I come home to the alarm. I do not want to remove the trim, so are there any ideas or other types of ato I could use. Right now you can not see any sensor. I do have a hob fuge on the back of the tank but that water level does not drop. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Where is the aqua lifter located?
Simple answer in belive , is a different pump.
Most likely with one that sits in the ato container.

The only thing I can think of without buying a new ATO set up, is to rig some sort of bracket where the sensor can sit out away from the rim and then give you the option to move it up and down without hitting the rim of the tank. I'd would have to see it in person to think of what to use that would work. Does that make sense? Not sure if I am communicating it clearly.

The aqua lifter is right behind the tank. I use a 10 gallon tank for ato container. I thought about a bracket for the sensor. I am trying to figure a way so the water level doesn't drop that much before it fills. I know it probably means a new ato, unless a bracket like you said where I can make it fill before it shows low on he glass.

When I had the hydor, I used an avast peristaltic pump. But I've seen diy peristaltic pumps work just as well. Just like your situation the Tom's aqualifter wasn't enough. Side note, my hydor failed at 6 month. Save your pennies.

Guess I’m confused. Is the sensor to low or does the pump not keep up?
Lifters are very low GPH by nature.

Hydor triggers at about an inch. Which on a standard tank the aqualifter can't keep up within the 10 minute redundancy shut off. I used it on a 20 gallon high so with a 29 it for sure won't work.

Sorry, I wasn't too clear. The ato does work properly but I have to find a way to mount it higher. The pump does not recover fast enough. I can solve that with a pump I have. Just trying to figure out how to mount it.

Something like this maybe.

I pulled the valves off and use em for my dosing tubes , ato inlet for the tank, pump cord wrangling in the sump etc.
I got the fancy ones from wall
Mart.

I was having a similar issue with my Toms until I remember to drill another pressure release hole in the cap of my ATO container. The pressure was to much for the Toms to lift without the release.
