Hey all!

Looking to buy my last piece of equipment before I start putting together my 40g. I am trying to decide between using the Apex to create a custom ATO or buying a tunze or something to use as an ATO.

Thoughts?

I am using the Tunze and I love It.

Im actually going to use both. A Tunze to control the water level and the PM2 on the apex to check Salinity as redundancy in case the pump fails to shut off for any reason.

I use my Apex. Overall I think it's simpler to setup. More importantly you can integrate redundancy into the system.
Just yesterday, this saved my tank. The ATO float switch stuck and the ATO failed to shut off on it own. The Apex recognized this; stopped the ATO and alerted me to the problem.
If I did not have an Apex I would have come home with water pouring out all over my floor!

I know this is an old thread but maybe someone is watching: I have a Tunze ATO and Apex 2016. What is the best way to set them up? All I really want the apex to do is to limit the time it's running and turn it off completely if the salinity drops. Any ideas?
