I just finished filling my new 100G with water and rocks, setup the apex for basic functions, and have the tunze 3155 ready to go but not hooked up yet. overnight it looks like my tank evaporated about 50oz of water, so looks like this will be a thirsty tank. (my current 30g goes through about 5gal every 2 weeks).

i have the float and optical switch in the right (return) chamber of my trigger 34 sump. i will keep a 5gal ato resiviour right next to the sump.

question 1) should i have the water drop into the return section or up in the display tank? my current tank is an AIO so not really many options.

question 2) is there a way to setup the tunze 3155 to fill when it hits a low point and then stop at a high point. my smart ato (on the current tank) seems to go off every 10-15 minutes filling a few ounces at a time. is this ideal? there is only an optical eye on the smart ato

you can kind of see where i plan on putting the ATO sensor, behind the return plumbing. and the yellow box is where the 5g reservoir will go.

Question1: I would put your ATO into the return and not your display. That is what I do. Works well.
