Hey my fellow reefers!!! So I just set up my ATO and was just curious on how often do your guys kick on and about how much water does it put out at once? I know it all very on sump size weather but was just looking for ball park answer?

Thanks

As you said depending on many factors open tank covered, humidity level etc. However looking the log it seems like every hour or less for around 20sec. Hard to say how much per 20 sec. but not more than 3-5 gallon a week for me, but my tank is currently covered.

My 75.gallon DT with 20 gallon long sump uses about a gallon a day. I have a Tunze ATO and it only kicks for about 10 seconds at a time.

I use the Neptune ATK and run it once a day to keep my stock RSR 250 gravity fed ATO full. The design of their sumps is such that you need to keep a stable water level plus I like to keep salinity as stable as I can. A gravity fed ATO operating 24x7 is about as stable as you can get IMHO. I clean the float every 6 weeks or so and have an optical sensor in the sump for low level in case it gums up in between. Been running this for nearly 2 years without any issues.
