Hello all. I have an ato for my fluval 13.5 and i need a reservoir to keep the fresh water in. Im not looking to spend an arm and a leg. What does everyone else use?

Do you need a heater or wave maker in your reservoir? Thanks

Pretty much any reef safe container can be an reservoir. I’ve seen people convert trash cans into reservoirs so they can have it sitting beside the tank without looking out of place.

Rectangular tupper-ware type cereal container would be fine for a small nano tank.

I needed a little more capacity than that, so I use a dog food storage bin (the biggest vittles vault LOL) and it holds about 13 gallons.

Built myself one yesterday to maximize the space in my sump.. holds 4-1/2 gallons.. but anything can work.

Could you walk us through how you did this? I’ve seen someone make an aquarium out of ikea glass shelves on youtube but this narrow design would be hard to pull off using that method.
