I currently have a Rubbermaid Tote which I used as the resevoir. I am wanting to switch to another method, either a glass tank or a container maid for storing water.

Post some ideas.

Thanks,

BTW I am leaning towards doing a setup with two 10 Gallon glass fish tanks. One for the ATO and the other for mixing salt.

Here's what I did for my ATO reservoir:

I started with a 5 gallon soda ash bucket (from my pool), and simply cut a hole in the top. I use 5 gallon water jugs for my RO/DI water and flipped the jug into the hole of the bucket....like a water cooler setup. You can easily see when you need another jug....and it's easy to change (add more water).

Painted the bucket black:

However, the weight of the jug eventually cracked the thin plastic lid

To fix this I use 1/2" acrylic to re-enforce the top.

That is pretty cool.. Thanks for sharing!

I got a clear storage container from walmart. I went with the one that was closest to the max dimensions that I could fit, I ended up with a 7 gallon ATO resevoir!

I actually bought a pair of ten gallon tanks from a local pet store for 14 bucks each. I cut a piece of acrylic for the top. I also bought a metal shelve to place the tanks on. Bottom tank is RODI reservoir and top tank is mixing tank for Water changes. It will make my water changes much easier. No more lugging around 5 gallon buckets.

Holly crap grammar sucked this morning. Sorry!

I also use 2, 10 gallon tanks, one for ATO one for salt water. My ATO is on top because my system is a simple gravity fed ATO. Works well.

I also use a 5G jug from a water supplier. I just cut the top to allow a small pump to fit inside. If I wanted something nice I would probably look at Advanced Acrylics for an ATO resovoir.

I use a 2 1/2 gallon "fort-pak" container from US Plastics. The opening is big enough for the Tunze Osmolator pump. I drilled a small hole through the cap and ran the water tubing and pump wiring through it so I could still screw down the lid.

They have a 5 gallon version for ~$10. You can search "5 Gallon HDPE Stackable Container with 70 mm Cap".

In the past I have made my own acrylic ATO containers . It works great because you can make it to fit your needs. The problem that I have ran into is that I need the space under my stand now so I am looking at pumping the RO water from the garage straight into the tank , would this be an option for you? and if anyone out there has done this I would love to hear of the creative ways you have done this.

I am using a 20 long inside of an ottoman. I originally set it up with a 10 gallon, but this only lasted 3 to 4 days(210 gallon twv).. I am on week two of the 20 long, and I just discovered, after going 6 days on a fill, that I actually can lower my float switch bracket(low it sends an alarm to my phone when it needs to be topped off) another inch or two. So that will easily push me over the week mark..

The pics that appear blue lit are the original 10 gallon. The other(purple tint) is as it sits today with light(it always seemed that I was topping it off at night and trying to see in the dark was terrible, so, along with adding under cabinet lights, I added one to the top off reservoir) and float switch.. Aalborg with yes, the lid still fits, so it is very much unnoticeable unless someone(average person asks if they can sit on it and look at the tank) knows what's in it..
