Looking for a Ato system for my sumpless reef
Need help deciding how to maintain water level in display tank because I have a wave motion going on and can't figure out how to use a optical sensor with this wave activity

I have seen people do this with a little floating dam around the optical sensor so the waves bounce of that and the water inside stays still.

I use a small single dosing pump in my 30 gallon mixed reef. It takes a little time to get the addition of fw just right, but the stability is worth it. I have the max number of daily doses set, each at a few mls.

Use the auto aqua sumpless ATO.

Don’t worry too much about the effect of your powerhead. It will be fine once it levels out.

Honestly all the hassle and time of a DIY option vs $150 for something super clean doesn’t make sense. Take it from someone who tried to get cute and dealt with 4 months of hassle.
