This may have been discussed already. I was wondering about an ATO system for my uncle's 36 gallon Tank. He recently had a Tunze 5017 but the thing went dead. Now hw has to carefully monitor the evaporation in his tank. He had it not to long before hurricane Sandy so I was wondering which is preferred by you guys and gals?

I use the auto aqua ato. It’s relatively cheap. It works well but the pump for this ato need to be replaced often and costs about $40. I modified mine to use a $8 Amazon pump.

it’s also easy to make a diy one for about $30. All you need is a water sensor module, Arduino, and pump.

I had a nano osmolator. It was junk. Never worked right. I would just buy an inexpensive doser. But if he is a novice it might be best to buy an ATO. No they are available from BRS
That's why I was curious. I have the nano and the 3155 . the nano I used successfully on my 30 gal. But put it up when I got my Cade. We bought my wife the 3155 for her seahorse tank but only used it for 2 weeks and put it up as it screwed up her salinity 3 times which was honestly hard to do as I do w/c every Sunday. Seahorses r pretty nasty. Anyway thanks for the information
