ATO water salt mix or RODI

I'm wondering if doing an ATO to a tank with salt Mix is going to raise my DT salinity too high? And should be ATO with RODI to maintain salinity. I've done it using the salt mix reservoir and seen zero affect on salinity. I've done RODI and had salinity drop. I'm seeing YouTube videos guys saying RODI not salt mix.

Salt in the ATO will raise salinity.

I believe it’s truly impossible for your outcome to happen like that, just being brutally honest.

Definitely RODI water not salt mix. If there is truly zero affect on salinity with your system, something is very very wrong.

Also, salt mix will ruin the ATO pump. I tried to raise my salinity and had to replace the Tunze 3152 pump.

The only qay i can see the situation happening as you described is if somehow saltwater is being removed (like by a really wet run skimmer) then you would need to make sure you were replacing salt water along with the fresh water for evaporation. Mostly ato is used only to replace eveporated water and when water evaporates the salt gets left behind.

RODI, 100%.
Water evaporates, salt doesn't. Depending on your level of evaporation, it will skyrocket your salinity.
