ATO with Kalk

I been using Kalk water with my ATO and so far so good, I updated my sump that now has baffles that separate the return pump area and skimmer (Ref Sea Reefer). I put my Tunze ATO sensor in the return pump area for the ATO, and I am having the kalk water also dose into the return pump area. Should I worry about the build up of kalk water in the return pump area? Should I have the ATO dose into the skimmer chamber where I Have more water movement with the skimmer, reactor flow? But if I do this, would the water level rise fast enough at the return chamber to allow the sensor to turn off the ATO?

I have mine in return chamber and have white film on side of sump that sometimes breaks off and gets into display. I also have to clean the Tunze sensor with vinegar every few months when it stops working. I'm probably doing something wrong because my sand bed is hard as a rock
