ATO?

I have been happy with my Spectrapure UPLC-ll for over 8 trouble free years now. It uses a digital sensor mounted remotely via an airline tube so nothing can get to it. In 8 years my total maintenance besides cleaning the peristaltic pump rollers with a paper towel every 6-9 months is replacing one silicone pump tube. Excellent system with so many levels of safety and adjustments and all at the touch of a button. Go to the Spectrapure site and download their owners manual and I think you will be quite impressed.

I just looked this ATO up and it looks very reliable but I am kind of confused on how it works. Is this the right one?

Where is the sensor and the pump? It is a little confusing to me :)

I have the Smart ATO on 2 tanks. There great. Very simple and as pointed out already will not overfill. The only issue I had was the first location I put it in was susceptible to algae and the sensor would get blocked and think there was water and not refill sump. I relocated sensor have had no problems since. I highly recommend it [emoji106]

Yes. The sensor and peristaltic pump are inside the black box. Some really nice things about this system is it can suck water up like 35 feet from a basement or lower floor if your ATO storage is remote or it can push water up vertically something like 65 feet. The pump rate is adjustable from 0 to 100% in ten steps so could be set where it would be impossible to overflow in a failure condition. It has a back up emergency shut off float switch too. It is adjustable between 1/10" and 4" level drop so you can set it so wave action or fluctuations don't affect it and it doesn't kick on and off like with float switches.
This walks you through the system features and how to set it up
