Ato

Is that still the case? I have 2 of them and love them, but I thought the Smart ATO and/or the Neptune ATK were now the forum favorites.

Definitely possible it could have changed. I would give the ATK a few more years on market to prove reliability though.

Smart ATO is great I’ve used it for years now. Neptune ATK I agree with above, should be given more time to get better. I’ve heard from at least 3 people that it just keeps pumping water into the tank without stopping until it runs out. I’m sure it just needs a little update and it’ll be great like everything else from neptune. Ice cap makes one as well that is inexpensive, I’ve had that one too and my only complaint is that it’s so accurate that it starts beeping to warn you of an over fill even if you put your hands in the tank(which is annoying) and it’s a little flimsy. You would need a small tank with thin-ish glass or to put it in your sump.

It depends on your tank size to gauge which one would be best for you. If you have a larger tank then you can't go wrong with the Tunzes. I'm using a Smart ATO on my 65G and found it to be very reliable and maintenance free. I do believe the APEX ATK is going to be a go to system when it gets through it's teething issues.

I just have a cheap little one from auto top off dot com. It is nice and reliable. I will probably upgrade. But for a ATO 1.o it does a good job.

Another vote for the Tunze. Paired it with a Trigger crystal 5 gal storage tank for my 90. Nice. The pump is a bit loud. And it gets a bit louder as the storage tank's water level drops. But, I hardly notice it. A matter a fact, every time I hear it I think great! No more daily bucket brigade. ;)

It's a 46 gallon tank so what would be best and only a couple of fish and the rest corals
