I use TUNZE, very reliable worth the price with for a piece of mind knowing I won't come home to a flooded house.

Spectrapure is the best ATO IMO, much better sensor set up (no mechanical floats) and much better peristaltic pump. Spectrapure can take from the ATO reservoir and deliver water further than any other package out there.

You would need only rodi water container. I use 5gal jugs I got from Amazon for about$20.

This or I went to Petco for 1 dollar per gallon sale and I use a 10 gallon breeder for my ato resivour.

Tunze Osmolator for me too. I use a 45g brute for my container, but my tank is big.

I think containers with lots of open surface will have much higher evaporation rate, so you might have to refill container fairly often.

Mine 10 gallon breeder I fill with 5 gallons once every 2 weeks

You can make a lid out of acrylic that you can get at home depot... or some trash-can types come with lids.

Reef Breeders has a really nice one with backup sensor, run dry detection, an alert if your top off runs more or less frequently than normal, an alert if the optical sensor needs to be cleaned, and includes the pump and brackets for under $100. I built my own air driven ATO, but I’m actually considering this option due to the additional features.

Buy some saltwater at your LFS, it comes in a 5 gal jug. Cut a small half dollar sized hole in the cap for the hose and wire, and it will be big enough for 1/2” hose to refill the container. Perfect solution for me, I replace a gal every day
