I have been using a gallon a day. is this normal? im thinking it might be but not sure. the skimmer pump and return pump. tank lights and I keep the heater on in the house this time of year since the temperature fluctuates so much on a daily basis here in iowa. plus the tv giving off heat and the PC also giving off heat would cause evaporation also.

What’s the size of your tank. Glass lid or mesh or open top? Probably normal.

75 gallon tank.

Yup. Normal. Open tops evaporate a lot more than glass. I have a 20g with a mesh top, I lose 1 gallon every 3 days.

I'm n the desert w a 28gal nano n a chiller n use a half gal a day.id say it's normal .I'm thinking of fans for the top but can't justify temp drop to evap as my evap will go up substantial y but temp drop will only be a few degrees. R
