ATOs in All In One Tanks

Question for any IM All In One tank owners, but do the filter chambers allow for you to reliably use an ATO in them? I am using a Duetto ATO in my current tank, but in a standard tank (no sump, no all in one chambers). This worked brilliantly for many months until I added a pincushion urchin, and within a few days the urchin found its way to the ATO, almost overflowing the tank.

So, I am considering a "do over" with an all in one (or sump) and wanted to know people's experiences with these?

As long as the sensor is in the return chamber where you will see the water level drop all should be fine.

That is where my is at and it’s worked flawlessly for a year now.

I have an AutoAqua ato set up in the return chamber of my IM Lagoon 25. Works perfect, and critters can't get to the sensor.

Shame here. In the return chamber. Have a Tunze and never an issue.
