So I did some searching and saw thread talking about super gluing mushrooms to rocks, tying them down with thread, shoving them in rock holes/crevices, etc.

Is this really all we can do? I received a very nice healthy shroom from a friend. I stuck it in a breeding container in my tank with some rubble, but it didn't like it & never attached.

Right now it is floating around in my tank (currently under a shelf with very little light). It hasn't attached to anything, nor has it expanded since I let it float loose. It is kind of in a little ball right now.

What can I do to attach it?

One time way in the past, I used some very shear netting material, like for a wedding veil or shear curtains. Put the mushrooms on a rock and wrap the material on the rock with rubber bands (don't put the rubber bands right on the mushroom .) Within a couple of weeks, all of the mushrooms attached.
