My live rock isn't very porous and thus doesn't have a lot of holes for frag plugs. I would like to add some frags, but not sure how to attach them to my rock work.

Do people take out the rocks and drill holes in the rocks to hold the plugs? Or is there another way?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If your plugs have a "stem" on the bottom, you can always cut those off to give you a flat plug. Then, some thick superglue gel and/or epoxy will allow the flat plug to attach to your rock easily.

Bone cutters. It's oddly easy. I really thought the plugs would be much harder or shatter. I got this kit for my coral work.

This is what I do. I use wirecutter pliers to cut the stem off.
