Hi all, a bit of a far fetched question..

My green colt is not attached to anything anymore so in order to restore its health do I need to attach it to its rock that I perched it on? I hope this makes sense

It should attach by itself if it isn't getting knocked off or anything Often people rubberband them to something

Agree with spare time start a rubber band at first see if it will reattach by itself if not you may seek other methods as far as epoxy or glue goes but not perfectly familiar with this Coral

Would there be a reason it wont attach itself without the use of a rubber band? and where specifically would the rubberband be placed as to not harm it?

That's a great question as I mentioned above I'm not familiar with this Coral so be the first thing to kind of look into before using such strategy

For soft corals you should not use glue or epoxy. My prefered method is to find a plastic tooth pick, put the tooth pick through the base, use a rubber and to hold the toothpick to the rock you want it to attach to. Once attached remove the rubber band, then twist the toothpick then slowly pull it out.

Not my picture. This is some xenia same idea.

This wont be painful to the coral? Seems skewering the base might be painful.. is it mandatory to have them attach to a rock or can they thrive without this?

If you shove them in a crevasse or a hole where they can't float away they should attatch
