Hi everyone! I am planning on turning my 10 gallon into a mixed macroalgae/gorgonian tank with an anemone and perhaps a few other corals. My question is, how do you keep the macroalgae affixed to rocks until it attaches? Can you simply use a reef safe glue? Thanks :)

I was actually thinking of trying red grape macroalgae, Botryocladia sp. May try some gracilaria but ONLY if it can actually be affixed to one spot.

You shouldnt have much of an issue affixing spike sphere, red ogo, or pom pom gracilaria.

I would recommend what @cracker said and use a rubber band

Does that mean I CAN'T use glue on macroalgae? I can't envision using a rubber band on red grape algae, and some of my rocks are too large to properly rubber band macroalgae to.

With respect to Bortacladia attachment with glue, it depends on what you got. If it is a sprig, it will not last. When I get it from the divers, it is collected with a foot to attach to something. As you have already been told, wedge it with a smaller rock to keep it in place. Then it might attach.
