Attaching mushrooms

Good day all,
I've been trying to get a new to me mushroom to attach itself to something, anything in my tank for 4 days now to no avail. At first I was trying to get it to attach inside the tank, but the flow would carry it off every time. So I removed it from the tank and put it in a bowl with tank water and some sand and rubble and a few shells and still nothing. Its been in the bowl for 2 days. Any tips or tricks to get this thing to attach to something would be greatly appreciated.

The bowl method is the way to go. Just be patient. The bowl should be in your tank though, don't want it getting stagnant
