Attaching new coral to existing rock

Like the title says. How do I attach a wet frag base to existing rock underwater?

I've tried an appoxy putty which doesn't really set up like it says it will and it makes crumbles into the tank. The reef crazy glue I bought says to use on dry surfaces.

A putty would be ideal if it also has sticking qualities and actually sets up nicely under water.

Two-part putty has to be really thoroughly mixed, or it won't set. Did you blend it until it was only one color instead of two?

A way to attach a frag plug permanently to something is to get some two-part putty, and some gel superglue. Just regular, dollar store superglue, though it does have to be gel.
You make a little disc of the putty, with superglue on both sides of it. The frag goes on one side, and you press the other side really hard to the rock. The putty fills in the gaps, allowing the superglue to do its job. It WILL NOT come off if you do that, so be very sure you want the thing where you're putting it. The rock will come off itself before this gluing method breaks.

Yes, the glue when done right underwater will make a balloon of sorts onto the epoxy base if you used one. I then take that and place where it needs to go.

The SPS frag will grow over the epoxy base over time. So all good. However, the downside is that you’re “committed” to that rock location. I prefer gluing frags to plugs then glue them to rocks. That way, you can always relocate them as needed.

The Instant Ocean putty works fine for me.

What were you trying to use?

I like CG coral glue or sea Chem both easy to use no mess, no skimmer issues and hold solid. I've got 2 frag plugs I can't even remove from a rock now they glued down so hard.
