Attack wound on Achilles Tang or disease?

AT was fine one day dead the next. Had been in QT one month eating very well and thriving
had been treated with prazipro, no lesions on body prior to this discovery.

Looks like a wound that got infected. Gram negative bacterial infections can kill pretty quick, especially when it's a delicate fish. So sorry for your loss.

Thanks for your response HF. Do you think the emerald crab could have done it, he is pretty large. That would be just my luck, was such a nice AT and i was so happy at how he was doing thus far

Emeralds are pretty slow moving and non aggressive, but I personally don't trust any crab. If the AT was sleeping near the crab's den he might have pinched him to make him go away.

I agree with the injury and it getting infected, though it would be tuff for the crab to be responsible. He'd have to be pretty lucky to nab a sleeping fish and pretty ticked off to even want to.
