Now that I am using dose pumps, what are you doing to cover for "shake before using".

I'm thinking to run an air line into my containers and keep a slow bubble action going.

Bring on suggestions or what is it is you do.

I just had a reservoir built for my additives and it is setup so that I can put a mj400 or similar pump in it and run periodically on a timer or in my case using my profilux.....I use the esv bionic 2 part.

I thought about it a while back. My wife used to work in a lab and she is the one that suggested using it. I was going to program an outlet to have it come on 10 minutes or so before the doser started its dose.

That's kind of like what I do except I just use a mj...... That would work really good for guys with a small opening in the jug or reservoir

You could always get a few of these...Corning PC103 Magnetic Stirrer | eBay

Most of the containers say to shake before using. However, one of the dose products my reef tank is currently "on" is Brightwell Aquatics's "Liquid Reef". Now that I have it in a clear container at the dose rig, I see it settles mighty fast to leave an inch of akl (lime) in the bottom. I guess I will invest in a small air pump and a stack of valves so I can bubble these containers off a timer a few times a day.

Another idea I had is a model boat propeller on a length of rod and a small motor that hits a few turns a few times a day. The air line, valves and pump would KISS the problem so much better.

Keep the ideas coming, these products really should be mixed or we are risking a wide range of mixture concentrations between the fresh batch the the last few doses of the bottle. That is completely against the grain of many reasons to pump doses in the first place.

A kalk reactor like the Tunze 5074 or TLF's product would functionally be the way to go, but I would plan on switching to Alkalin8.3 and Calcion when you run out of Elemental. Use the reactor for actual limewater later on.

I started out using Elemental too as it's simple, but it is expensive and has limited capability. Switching to the alternates I mentioned would be the best next step.

I ended up buying a Whisper 10 air pump and a fist full of tees and valves at PetCo. Then I put the pump on a timer and have it on several times a day for a few minutes with the air tubes bubbling just enough to gently stir.
