Pretty sure this is what I just got. $200 from LFS. Pics kind of suck as its in acclimating box but if I'm right its a nice find. Ignore colors couldn't use custom settings because he moves too much. His belly is really yellow though.

I remembered the time I got one from one of the LFS around. They just unpacked them when I saw it and I asked how much and the worker asked the manager and he said $135. Don't know if they had an idea what it was but I purchased one right away. The next day when I came back the price was $350 :D:D

I haven't updated my thread, but we had a few tornadoes near my house a week and a half ago. We lost power in the late afternoon/early evening. I got a portable generator hooked up by 6am but I still lost half of my fish, including the 2 diamondtails. That was a gut punch. So I am taking my time refilling. The good news is the price on them seems to be coming down a little.

Ouch.

Sorry to hear that, TJ.

Triggereef, SWEET! If these guys keep dropping in price, maybe even _I_ can afford one! Good luck with this little guy - we want to see pix & vids after he's in your display!

Oh no! That's horrible TJ! So sorry to hear this. I'm going to test run my generator this afternoon!

I thought they would be ok until morning, lesson learned One of my next invastments will be gyre type pump and a battery back up.

that really sucks, sorry to hear about that. I bought a huge generator several years ago and its in the box still. Naturally after buying that I haven't lost power since.

I bought some battery powered air pumps on Amazon for about $9 each. They sense power and only turn on if the power goes out. That probably would have saved your tank. As long as power loss is less than a day anyway.
