Thinking of making the transition from biopellets to zeo.

Wanting equipment advice/suggestions?

Advice on experience, like do's and dont's?

Is there a way to go Zeo but not full blown Zeo? I have heard it requires daily dosing of 50 differnt additives.

I have a 210 gallon sps dominant tank with roughly 250 gallons water volume. Currentry dosing alk, cal.
8.7dkh
440 cal
1436 mag

Thanks in advance guys!

LOL, you going ZEO and I just quit ZEO 6 months ago.
I can honestly say if you keep your tank balanced and stick with 2 kinds of liquate coral food and 1 type a AA, you'll have the same results.
I make my own brew of coral food and have been more than happy.
Of course you need to keep your PO4 low and ALK under the 8.
Look at my build thread, just posted some pics that D2 made for me and look back to pics from a year ago............ no difference.
I can tell as I had ZEO for 5 years.
Nothing bad about it, I was just finding a way to spend less time on organizing my tanks, I needed that time to spend on a new company that I bought and all little things help to collect that time some where.

I hear ya there man. I dose fuel (10ml a day) feed coral frenzy and oyster feast a few times each weekly. Wanna share your recipe? lol

Params are as tight as ship. Haven't attempted to run less than 8 on alk. You know my collection is huge and I don't wanna lose them in the drop ya know.

I'm more or less chasing colors and growth. While I not disappointed with what I have I just know it could be better.

Might try it out on my frag tank first. It has lps and zoas how do you think they would handle the ulns?

I was never lucky with LPS and ZEO other than Blasto's were doing great.
Zoa's, acans and Chalices all were looking bleached out and on top the zoas were getting tiny and acans lost color.
Since I house my LPS in the fragtank they've been doing a lot better, I mean a lot.
They doubled in size if not more with in 6 months.

Can I get a PM about this coral food?

I run Zeovit and it can be automated with a dosing pump. I would buy an Avast vibe for the zeolite so you don't have to stir the zeolite. I only dose a few different zeo products a day I'm sure everyone runs it a little different.

HAHAHA :p I'm going to start a new business.............
I had already 3 PM's about my Diesel Brew ;)

I have a feeling we going to crash this thread about do's and dont's on ZEO.
Maybe I should dig up my build thread and open up a little bit more

yeah i would like really like to hear some more experience on how peoples different corals fare'd in the ULNS.

i saw a build thread with a guy using the Kore 5th doser...which sounds like it will make life easier. the vibe is a must for sure!

such a big decision lol

I been using zeovit for a few years now. Just like with any other methods patience and stability is key. If you switch you need to back off the pellets slowly while incorporating zeovit. It takes time for the proper bacteria to colonize and do its thing. I've had great results with zeovit but i agree with mr Diesel you can achieve same outcome even with the most simple way of doing things. Ya once you reach low nutrient food and amino is your friend. Now i run just big skimmer, liverock, refugium and i carbon dose very little just ti keep alagae in check and i feed . I don't do as much as I use to with my tank like when i did zeovit. But I did get great results.

well im committed..... reactor installed saturday morning.
couple questions.....
how often are you feeding(pumping)?
when is it best to dose, morning or night?

Pump the reactor in the morning and night, Dose the Zeostart twice a day, and the rest doesn't matter. Read the Zeovit Guide, it tells you everything you need to know.
