Aussie 6x2.5x2

Yeah unfortunately had to re-home her to a fish only tank. Started eating scolly's and killed a basic red and this beautiful four-headed red with yellow stripes scolly :(

It's been a mixture as I started to fall in love with photography as well. Started off with iPhone, then bought a Canon EOS350D, then hired a 5d Mkiii, then bought a Canon 7d.

Lenses have varied a little too, but a mixture between a 24-70mm F2.8L, 85mm F1.8, and a 100mm F2.8L

Thanks for the info. I figured you had to be using at least a F2.8 or better for most of those shots. I have two F2.8 lenses for my Canon 60D (Sigma 70-200mm and Tamron 28-75mm) but don't have a tank yet to practice on. Would love a F1.8 or some Canon glass.

Thanks again for sharing such great shots.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm still learning myself, only been playing with camera's that aren't built into your phone for about 3-4 months. Must do some courses or get some professional tips at some stage, but pretty happy with where I have got to so far on my own :)

The tamron 28-75 would be a nice lens, I find one of the keys with photography of tanks is to pickup lenses with a short minimum focusing distance. I like to get right up to the glass to take shots :P

Short video of the tank, really only made it to learn how to use iMovie - but was pretty happy with the end result. Next one should be a bit better. Enjoy!

Cheers mate, I'll try and pop together something a bit better this week :D

Did a short time lapse video yesterday, about 8 hours condensed into 46 seconds:

Finally got around (been hectic lately....) to making a proper time-lapse using my DSLR and a decent lens on a singular coral.

Chose an acan as it was in a spot that when I feed the tank, the fish don't swim in front of too often (ruining the shot). Only runs for a couple of seconds, but is still pretty cool.

This was done relatively crudely just to test out the process, I could actually do much longer shots in full Ultra HD (4k) as the images from the DSLR are big enough. Not that I have a device capable of playing footage that good, but cool to know!

Anyway - enough ramble - here it is:

I realised I hadn't done an update on tank inhabitants for a while, so had a dig about to see what I had pictures of to share. I'll try to get some pics soon of the new corals I have in the tank and will certainly do an update when my purple tang hits the tank.

But in the mean time, here is some shots of my clowns laying eggs and a video of my weekly thunderstorm. Enjoy!

very cool! your tank is amazing - love the music choice on the video :) also really like the pictures - in the 4th picture of the clowns, it looks just like one is whispering to the other
