Aussie 6x2.5x2

Thanks for the advice Slicko, will look into the Detox.

Yeah ok, Im not sure if lithium being high is a massive issue, but will look into what I can find in the foods :)

Cheers!

being into the red i would attend too it. swing triton or randy a message on here they can advise?

Upon reading further, copper traces at that level are not a concern, only when going over 15. I'll leave the detox for now as it sounds pretty scary!

Looking on the Triton forums, they make it a red lamp as anything over zero is worth looking at - but they don't recommend action until over 15 :)

there yah go laughing, i agree on the detox i havent used it yet but looks daunting for sure.

yeah, turning tank water brown for a few days sounded much too scary. Glad to hear the red lamp is more of a heads up than a action required type reading!

Awesome reef! Do you have nay new full tank shots?

Hi all,

been a bit lazy taking pictures for a while, so thought I best make up for it with an orgy of jpegs. Most flak has been around the lack of full tank shots, so there are a few from various angles and lenses here to keep you all happy :)

Have had the exotic chalice bug for a little while now and are starting to collect a few rippers. Also have an absolute show piece meat coral that I can't get enough of looking at.

Also added a picture of my lighting rig which currently consists of 3x GHL Mitras units, 4x80w T5's and 2x250w Radium Halides. I am actually really happy with this as it leaves me thinking I am leaving nothing out :)

Also recently picked up a royal exclusive double cone 250 skimmer with RD3 speedy pump and another couple of RD3 speedy pumps that will make their way into this tank at some stage (well, one RD3 pump is already on my frag tank and will stay there). Will need to make a new sump for the skimmer to fit, but looking forward to seeing what Dave at Deer Park can come up with. The guy is a genius with this sort of stuff, so I expect it will end up having a few tricks up its sleeve :)

Anyway, enough from me, enjoy the pics!

Facebook kindly reminded me it was a year since I took an 11 hours drive to pick-up this little ripper. Time has flown!

Short drive for a fish (1027km is 638 miles)....

About a week after being in my tank:

about 3 months after being in the tank (and still probably the nicest picture I have of her, she is fairly shy when the camera comes out):

about 6 months in new tank (with flash):

Wow what an incredible angel! Someday when my wife's gone senile and no longer knows what a fish thank is....

Not super easy to find in Australia either, some are better than others. I'd rate this one at about 80% compared to some that I have seen. I like the really solid toxic green from stem to tip :)
I live in OZ gold coast and my LFS gets them in all the time :)

I realised I hadn't done an update on tank inhabitants for a while, so had a dig about to see what I had pictures of to share. I'll try to get some pics soon of the new corals I have in the tank and will certainly do an update when my purple tang hits the tank.

But in the mean time, here is some shots of my clowns laying eggs and a video of my weekly thunderstorm. Enjoy!

WOW you should breeding! them

This is why I love R2R, click on a thread I haven't seen before, grab some popcorn and an hour or so later, I've witnessed greatness. Loved reading, looking and watching the videos. Amazing coral and fish selection and fun to read! Your build is a "ripper"!! Love the Aussie slang ;)

Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed my story to date :D

JadeM - finding green hammers is not hard, finding truly toxic green hammers is another story. Pictures don't do justice, you need to see them in person to really see the difference. Ones like this just steal your eyeball (note, not mine - but I would like!)
