I was looking into this matter a couple weeks ago and the problem is not with collecting coral but the problem is with coal that is being purchased from Australia and being sent to China. The ships that are porting in Australia continue hitting the reef and of course tons and literally tons of coal is being dumped onto the reefs from the ships and the process of loading the coal onto the ships.
Its sad and seems like something that could be fixed with a little planning and work ethics.
