Ok so had him for a couple months now and all good till a few days ago. Prior to the deflating I fed it reef roids but also other lps . I might of also poked it but don't recall. Weird thing is that when you irritate it or move it, it would puff up then deflate in like 15 min. It opens just fine at night all tentacles out...
Is he on his way out? Should I give him more flow or light. Thanks

Jose

You have to feed him. Mine is dieing and it just needs more food. I had to make a cup to go over it and I put a hole in it to squirt brineshrimp in it.

What’s your calcium and alk at?

It’s hard too tell from the photos ... is this a newish tank .. could you list your parameters, what kind of flow is it sitting in.. is it in high light or low light in your tank .. what else do you have in your tank .. is there anything that could be irritating it other than when you do it .. have you tried feeding it some meaty foods mysis or Artemia... the more info the better the assessment of the situation ...

Thanks guys, yea I do feed it some mysis once a week. Tank is about 6 years old, have acros that are doing great and sorry guys don't do water tests too often but I'm almost positive it isn't the water quality as all sps are thriving. So how often should I be feeding this baby.

Not sure about your last question so #reefsquad any input ... as for feeding 2-3 times a week should be fine .!!

If it was stomach rot would I be a able to tell.
Only reason I ask is because a couple of days after feeding it reef roids it acted like this so not sure if it's coincidence or not, just heard so many good things about it.

Keeping SPS happy and LPS happy are 2 different things when it comes to chemistry. It's easy to keep the water to clean for LPS in a SPS dominant tank. I'd start feeding your fish a bit more for now, nothing crazy. After the lights go out check the coral for a feeding response a few hours after the lights are out. If its tentacles are out I'd feed it a few small pieces of meaty foods. Couple times a week is more than enough.

Thanks for the advise, I'll start feeding the tank a little more. Last night I fed it some mysis and so far he's puffed up I'll continue to do this every other day from now on didn't realize how much meaty food this animal needed to be fed. One of my favs and would like to see it grow. Thanks again everyone

This is from a few minutes ago, what you guys think should I feed it again tonight or wait till tomorrow.

Wait for the lights to go out then check after about 1.5 hrs if it’s tentacles are out then feed a little more ..but I have mine in a little more shade than yours too , don’t know if that would make much difference..

Nice tank Jason, you think I should move him a little over to the right were it would be Away from the lights? I'll feed him a little more tonight and see how he responds.

Thanks ..!!:D....Actually doesn’t look that bad there .. I see you also have Chinese B.B. over your tank .. me too .. I have 3 over mine .. what are you running your lights at whites / blues/ night blues .. and how many hrs a day ..?? And it looks like you could maybe raise your light a little higher and get a better spread over your tank

these lights tend to have a hot spot in the center ... I was hitting 250 par in the mid on the sand

Whites are at about 60% and blues 75% I think, also blues on for 8 hours and whites 6 hours. I'll work on raising the lights just have to figure out how. I'll let him be for now see what happens.

Ok my advice drop your whites too about 30% , blues are good 75-100%
This is mine .. tops out at 60 .. but 100% on this app would be 255

So you can see how low my whites are set ... peak run time 4 hrs
Or are you running the aqdim3 app ?

No I'm not running the app, what is that though? Ok I'll slowly drop the whites, will it effect the sps? Thanks the advice Jason I really appreciated.

I have sps in my tank too .. the app is because my lights are controlled by WiFi ..
Also my lights hang on chains from the ceiling..
