Aussie lords thread...

Hi. We (me and my husband) just got a frag (for $9) and we're not sure what it is... it is just a 4 polyp coral and small (1 cm per polyp). It looks exactly like the green centered coral in the first picture. Could you please let us know what that coral is?

Any information is greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Sounds like micromussa. Pictures of acans and micromussas can be deceiving, as theyre actually really really tiny. Acan polyps could be 2-3 cm wide (as Ive seen) and micromussa somewhere around 1 cm. They grow faster given spot treatments of cyclopeeze or small meaty foods. Given a large colony of them, they could easily fetch a high price, and look amazing.

had to share a few favs...

Very nice acans I love the gold eyes on the last one. I'm on the lookout for one like that.

Thanks Jody, they are coloring up nicely.

Can anyone help me out with ID on these guys?
Are they common?
Rare?
I'm still learning about Acans.

most Aussie lords don't have a name... I only know of a few names that were from ReefRaft from a while ago... I guess for Aussie lords, it's mostly color descriptions.... besides the obvious Rainbows... when I'm buying Aussie lords, I like to see WYSIWYG pics of the actual frags/mini colony/colony... I highly recommend this.. :)
