just wondering how many here have kept their Aussie scollies for at least a year... since mine are fairly new, I just wanted to get an idea how the growth will be so I can plan their placement...

I will be incorporating mine into the rock work and think I will be using aquamend the 2 part epoxy. Seems to work great for everything else I've used it for in my aquarium.

its so easy to lure them to open up for feeding...one time i have friends over,and they were complimenting how nice my 3 round ones(thats how they call it)..then i wanna show it off like how they open up...i just drop a couple of pellets to each of them and in just seconds scolys starts reacting and putting out tentacles...my friends were like WOW...one said scary...its funny...they are amazing...thats why i added another one
and yes i wanna know info's too on how they do after a year or so..if how big they can get or do they reproduce?

I only have one right now (I hope to add more in the near future) and place my scoly on the rock with no glue. I just make sure the spot I place it has a nice crevice for the skeleton to sink into. I figure this way I don't waste too much glue if I want to remove and place it somewhere else in my tank.
IME any "solitary" coral like this that will eat a lot will not necessarily "grow" faster with a ton of extra food, however their tissue will grow thicker, and/or more robust and full. It will take a considerable amount of time to notice any skeletal growth (2+ years).

Considering the largest we really see in the trade are maybe 3.5" max, I wonder how big the skeleton can actually grow and from there I imagine it's just the flesh that would grow from there...

yeah... that's what I'm trying to figure out... how big do these guys really get? and do they spit out babies at all?
my biggest one is about that... 3.5" skeleton but w/ flesh, can reach up to 4"-4.25"...

I have had mine for about four years and it was in 2 diff friends tanks before that. So I have seen it for at least 6 years. I don't think it has really ever grown for me. Of course the area it could take up is pretty limited. The skeleton is about 3.5 inches across and it is usually about 6 inches across when inflated. No babies yet, but I hardly ever feed it.
