Could you please post a pic under regular lighting? Id really like to see what it looks like without all the blue thats in the pics on the unique website. I have 50 lbs coming and the suspense is killing me!

I cant see the white flaky stuff you are talking about in the pic that you posted

i really like the structure. I was hoping that it had more coralline than that. Does it look like there's much life on it?

Full disclosure, I’m new. But it doesn’t seem much is alive. There was a dead crab in the bag lol.

The life you want on this rock is something that you can't see and that's the bacteria, all the other stuff is bonus material. The rock looks great!
For 20$ a lb I would hard pass, why not go with actual live rock from KP or gulf live rock. Rock does look pourus

Diversity and there’s no mimicking real live rock. Cultured rock has spent a few years developing, but that’s nothing compared to the real thing. You only need a few pounds to reap the benefits, that’s the magic of real live rock. I know I’m splitting hairs here, but ask anyone who’s been in the game since the 90’s and you’ll probably get the same response. Especially since people are willing to spend hundreds on a tiny nub, while LR is the backbone of any successful system. But don’t get me started on DSB, they’re the real super stars of biology.

I agree the rock looks great. The value is that it was only out of the water for 4 days when collected and unique corals is overnighting it for delivery. Trust me im fully aware what it is which is why i purchased 50 lbs. I know the corralline will show up after turning the lights on for a couple months.

$20lb is super spendy. Now if it resembled the Cairns rock I'd be all in however theres absolutely no way to ship from AU to the US and keep all that life. I've traveled to AU/NZ a few times and it's a long trip. It would have to be packed in water and even then after 4 days I'm not so sure that would warrant that kind of a spend for me. Beautiful structured rock though. The next time I go out there however I might play with the idea of shipping back a couple of coolers on the plane if Customs would allow it.

Easily, the most amazing LIVE rock ive ever seen! Just some pics while i put them in for curing. Absolutely covered in sponges, bright orange coralline, marcroalgaes and all sorts of stuff ive never seen before. There's one giant table top piece that looks like it was an efflo about 500 years ago. Will post better pics later.

I Love Unique Corals!

If anyone is interested, they have some solomon island live rock available.

A 4lb piece I ordered when I got a sale email a couple days ago.

I just ordered 2 pounds of this stuff. I'm thinking about just throwing into my display nano, buts it's full of acros and favia (mainly)... am I running any risks of introducing pests into my tank ? Don't care much for bristle worms or mantis shrimp, bristle stars etc... I am worried about flat worms or any other pests or diseases that could cause my corals to perish...?

Here you all go I am late to the party

The rock from Tonga decades ago was great as was the Haitian Elkhorn.
Fiji live rock was and still is the back bone on my tank.

Oh yeah live Tonga rock, complete with a Eunice worm that wrecked havoc among the reef a few months after it was put into tank. Of course it ate the most expensive LPS and clams.
