Australian live rock

The ships going down….didn’t know. Always thought they were a reputable vendor Nvr had issues in the past. Lucky I guess
I'm unsure if it's going down, or been down to be honest. After walking through the operation a few times, I decided my money's best served elsewhere, even if that means shipping in sensitive coral.

The owner is Joe Caparatta. I met Scott years ago when he was a guest speaker for his marine biotiopes presentation for NJRC. I had a lot of stags w the Scheimer centerpiece. He saw my setup from reef central and used the pic for it too. Lol. And then he went to MACNA in Chicago I think.

The OG canister HOB no sump maxijet metal halides dosing ESV and Kalkwasser top offs via. My gallon milk jug hanging half way off the top of the tank and no lid so my fish could carpet surf system.

Got my 3lbs this morning. Requested some smaller pieces because I'm building a pico jar

The largest piece looks awesome. Any signs of life?

Yeah it's mind blowing. Wishing I had another piece like that, might have to epoxy the other ones into a bigger chunk.

No critters, but there's a ton of stuff all over the rock. I don't know enough to really identify what's what though.

Album with some higher res images:

Hey everybody I'm just checking in for some updates from those whom have been cycling this live rock. I've been testing and I've had zero ammonia for over a week now, my nitrites are barely visible if at all and nitrates keep rising. I haven't done any water changes since the first couple of days and today makes about 2 weeks since it was delivered. I think I'm going to move the rock to my tank starting with the larger piece first then followed by the smaller piece when I figure out where to put it lol. Has anybody introduced their rock to their displays yet? Any negative results or pest hitchhikers found from anybody?

Curious as well !

Got mine last Thursday, haven't been testing aside from a badge in the bucket. Haven't seen it move from safe since day one, but I have been doing daily water changes every day (only 3 gallons). Definitely funky smelling at first but it's greatly reduced now, just a little funk.

Planning on putting them in my Pico this weekend, that'll make it 10 days so I think it should be good by then.
