The LFS I got mine at also had a really cool orange one but they were expensive so only got the one. It has been growing quite well although there isn't much info on them and what I did find said they don't do well in captivity mine seems happy.

Any pics?

Those are so cool.

Never owned one but they sure do look like fun to feed.

I have been playing with idea of buying one. I have seen several at lfs and have my eyes on one. It is a bit bigger than I would like.

@tab28 get it you won't regret it. They are a very cool coral.

The ones sexy corals has are sweet. I love the last one they have listed. Would love a piece but can't afford it lol

Never been to sexy corals site. Really nice stuff it would not take long to get free shipping would it. I guess we have pretty good prices for corals here in Florida.

I did pick up a smaller one yesterday. It is only shades of orange. About 4" in diameter . The one I want is not a bad price at all for a 4 color one, but a bit too large for my tank sand area.

Anyone else have one? What do you feed it? Where do you have it in the tank? High light or low light?

They are low light, low flow. They are also called platting scoly. And care is basically the same. They eat just like a scoly but not as dramatic. Will eat small pieces of silversides, mysis or any other thing that falls within its mouth area.

I have noticed that with these corals if you don't regularly feed them they start to deteriorate. I haven't target fed my corals in about a month and obviously the astralomussa hasn't been getting enough to eat as it is starting to shrivel up. On one side I can see the skeleton and the other side the flesh is disappearing and a mouth is in danger of disappearing. Needless to say I will be feeding it more often now to see if it gets better. Will try and update in a week or 2. Will also get a pic of it when I get home.

Scoly is the same way. If the start to starve it is evident. I think most lps in general that like lower light levels need to be feed more than say high light sps.
