i want to set up an auto feeder for flake food, but I don’t want it to flush down the overflow immediately.

What’s the best option to prevent flake food going down the overflow?

Feeding ring, which you could buy, or simply make from tubing.

A DIY feeding ring can simply be made using 1/2 tubing and a piece of dowel.

This feeding ring was held in place just below the auto-feeder with a piece of scrap acrylic.

I made a second feeding ring that was held in place with two suction cups.

I use the eiheim auto feeder attachment for my eurobraced tank with my apex AFS.

I use the Two Little Fishies ring purchased from BRS. Works great to keep floating pellets in place.
