I want to use an auto feeder to drop flakes n pellets in during the day when I'm at work but I have screen tops covering my openings to keep jumpers in...Wanting to see if anyone has devised a way to use an auto feeder with a screen top without having a place for fish to jump out ?

well i guess pellets will prob make it through but flakes won't. Just seen a thread where a guy said he put an autofeeder for flakes over the return pump in his sump, maybe i'll try that.

I added a screen top to my aquarium (42 x 42 x 24 deep) and wanted to keep the auto feeder with both pellets and flake food. So I got a little carried away but it turned out pretty cool. It has an actuator that opens a door and allows the feeder to deposit the food then closes back up. I will try and post a video

I just crushed up the flake some. It’ll take more beatings when all the food tumbles anyhow.

Pellets are the way to go with auto feeder IME.
