Auto feeder

Anybody use them? Which one and are they reliable. I want to be able to leave my tank for a week unattended

I purchased one that is supposed to be the best. While it worked very well the pellet food I used just stayed on top of the water and went straight into the over flow. A lot of the food got stuck in the sump and started creating issues.

I use a auto feeder, to fix the issue that Rev is referring too. I got a floating feeding ring. Actually mine is a foam rectangle that has a suction cup. Its under the auto feeder which allows the dry food to sink instead of floating and going into the overflow.

That feeding ring is a brilliant idea... So many simple things can make life in this hobby a million times easier

When they come up with a feeder to feed frozen food... you may feel the earth move as I jump up and down with joy.

I think this is the reason there are not more feeders sold. They are great for fresh water, gold fish, and koi. .. But, most of us feed frozen or fresh foods to our reefs. Then there is the fact that fish food is only a portion of what we feed, we feed our tank.
