Thinking of setting up a small container (say 1/2 gallon) containing ro/di water and some defrosted brine shrimp. Adding a small pump connected to an apex with, say, 5 activation's during the day.

This way I could automatically feed the fish small portions thru out the day. I will calibrate the 1/2 gallon of water as part of my ATO.

Biggest concern is the brine going bad during the day and the brine getting chopped up by the pump into tiny pieces.

Anyone ever try this before?

Thanks
john

Haven't tried it and your concerns over rancid shrimp are definitely warranted. I like the idea though. Personally, I would raise brine shrimp and use a Toms aqualifter pump to feed them live.
