So I want to fill my ATO reservoir with clean RODI water automatically. Since RODI systems shouldn't be run in short bursts I want to build a low \ high switch.

eg: using a 10 gallon reservoir I want the RODI to kick on when the tank is 3\4 empty and turn off when full.

Any products that do this without a APEX or similar controller?

To me, without an apex, you would be looking at float switches perhaps. Maybe you can get an idea from autotopoff.com

Definitely looking at float switches for high and low levels- could do rim mounts or drill tank for these-
I am sure there is an off the shelf option somewhere for what you are looking to accomplish. Or if your creative you could make one with a solenoid valve and a latching relay.

Tunze makes a controller that does exactly that. I'm planning on using one for when I finally get around to doing a permanent install for my RODI system.

I'm planning on doing this with my new build. I'm not looking for a computer as I already have an Apex. Should it be done with programming and switches (float or optical) or should it be done with a DOS? Thoughts?

I’d like to see how this was actually done was it finished

I ended up using a dos to do this with a combination of high and low level switches. I use the APEX to only allow it be filled during certain times therefore it only fills every so often. I used the DOS because I had one, but any thing could have been used that moves water!
