Auto Top Off / Filter Socks

Anyone else hate the filter socks? I have the 220.6 and absolutely dislike how the socks get backed up after even just a day or so. Then the water level rises which in turn reduces the water level in the return column, thus toping off more RO/DI water than is needed.. reducing the salinity of the entire system. If anyone has found a work around, or simply just removed the socks, please let me know. Seems like a massive waste of space for the two socks.

The 3in or so increase in water level increase will have a negligible effect on 220g tank and would revert back when sock is changed = increase in return section and delay in ato run.


Just change your socks more frequently

Changing them daily… that’s not the fix. More than likely they will be removed all together. Not going to be married to these filter socks..

Can you switch to baskets? Lots of 3D printed ones around...

Not sure, simply don't care for the Waterbox Sump. Will more than likely change it out down the road. Will do a little research on the baskets. Thanks

What micron socks are you using? If 100 micron, it would be odd they’re blocking so quickly. If 10 micron, that would make sense.
