Hey guys I want to set up an auto top off for my 75 gal but I need some help. My reservoir tank is going to be located in my basement right below my tank on the first floor of my house (about 10-12 ft above). Right now I have a float valve running into my reservoir that fills with rodi water. What kind of pump and auto top off do you guys recommend for me to run into my sump?

Tunze has plug-in-style relays for the Osmolator where you can use any pump that you want, including one with higher head. I do not know of any off-the-shelf solution that will pump up that hight.

I do think that the Tunze Osmolator is best-of-breed with triple redundancy, but I have never used a relay with it.

+1 on the tunze. If that pump isn’t strong enough (even though it should be strong enough) the toms Aqua lifter is $20 and is a peristaltic pump that will get it up there no issue :)

I ran a Diaphram pump from Avast marine in my basement below my last tank and it worked flawlessly for 2 yrs.

With the tunze, you only have a few minutes to get the job done. You cannot use a super slow pump or else the unit will time out. In any case, I know a dude who uses a Osmolator to control a PanWorld 250 to top off his tank two stories up (like 25 feet), so it is just a matter of finding the right fit.

i know it was mentioned but this with the tunze osmolator and your choice of pump

You can open the box and adjust the amount of time the pump can run. It comes out of the box on the shortest setting :)

I really like the flexibility and redundancy of the osmolator. BRS did a video on it. Worth a watch.
