Having problems with ATO when the water level gets to the point were the ATO kicks on in the sump(pump chamber) it fills up shuts off, after a couple times of this it fills up the level in my display tank and then the display level will be to high and eventually flow over, return line is working fine and synced if the power goes off,I've played with the pump speed and still keeps doing it.

where is (are) your float switch(s) ? If in the sump they need to be in a "true" section, like the return pump chamber. If it the DT, sounds like there is a delay in leveling out.

If you going down to the pumps minium - does is still pulse?

Sincerely Lasse
I have the sensor in the pump chamber and it is set the same level as the level were the water level hasTo be for the skimmer to work.

What is the size In gallons of the DT and sump?
That’s the right place to have it but it sounds like you have very little “headroom”
Or wiggle room in the volume of top off amount that goes in. Either that, or the pump is moving it so quickly to the DT that the top off is not able to get to the sensor in time to reduce the amount it puts in to prevent overflow.
I recommend lowering your sensor by about a 1/2” or 1”

In my opinion, there isn't anything like a gravity-fed top off.

About 40 gal,you got me thinking on lowering the sensor, were I have it set now is at the same level as the chamber before,it should be set at just above the pump so that it won't t run dry?

This is how I have set it up - works very well

However I do not think this is your issue. I think that your drain line down to the sump does not swallow your pumps flow. I would test to have lowest thinkable flow from the pump and test if this work. Which diameter is your drain line - which flow have your pump. Is your overflow/drain line sucking in air?
