Ok fellow home reef engineers...

My plan is to have a 55gal poly BBL in the corner of my fishroom and build a handsome cabinet 12" taller than the barrel with a shelf for 2ea simple on/off style peristaltic "Drew's doser' esque pumps for FSW return to my 155 bowfront and 90 rectangle. I have a 4 head doser on my 155 with only 2 heads in use. For the purpose of this query, I am not concerned about the 90, my question will explain why not. my plan is to program my Apex to turn off all filtration pumps but leave wavemakers in display on. Then, via the pickup tube for one of the currently unused heads, remove waste from 155's sump until float switches tell it to kill waste pump and switch on FSW pump til final topoff switch kills FSW pump and re engages filtration pump(s). My problem is as follows...My sump is a 40 breeder and even if I moved the pickup tube from return pump chamber to the fuge, which I am loathe to do as it has sand in it and I don't want to pick up any and wreck the pump head, I'm still only lookin at being able to remove like 10-15 gallons of WW before the available water to be removed is depleted. I am planning a WEEKLY program so I am thinking more like 20-30 gals. how do I facilitate this?? thanks.

This is an issue I too have to overcome.
I have to drain all 3 compartments to do a 50% change.
I think on the next setup I will drill the tank to allow 3 ball valve drains tied together to drain the sump.

If you are automatically handling it, why not a daily 1-4 gallon? Or weekly 10 gallon?
