I'm looking into getting this. Does anyone on here have one? How do you have it set up? My tank sits in front of a staircase, with basement stairs below, so plumbing through the wall is out of the question. So I'm thinking some sort of vertical cabinet next to the aquarium to hide the 3 reservoirs needed. I don't have any more room under my tank for any more equipment, and it would be a royal PITA to refill new water and remove the dirty water. It's a 90g reef setup.

Hi
my experience of 4 months of use:
I used it for for AWC 1.5 to 2 liter change daily (only used manual option) +ATO
It s compact and ideal for a small set up - i have a red sea reefer 170
unfortunately i had to change the controller x 2 and the water pumps that suddenly stops working. The SW reservoir was about 2 meters away at the same height of the sump. I was lucky as my LFS was very supportive and had the pumps + controlled couriered from the supplier a number of times.
But i know some others who have not had any problems. sensors work as said but remember to clean them regularly. The controller keeps a track of previous ( average) of time taken to refill the tank and for any reason if the refill takes longer than the average it will stop and a alarm will sound.
Now I am using the ecotech versa and the has kept the Smart ATO as a back up

Thank you for that!

I’m using one right now on automatic mode. No problems so far. Just make sure to not shut it off during feeding time if you have it plugged into a controller because the ato function sets itself to “off” when power comes back on.
