Well Paul B has sold me on live blackworms. I've been feeding them for a few months now and all my fish love them.
I thought I would share this auto feeder that I built. I first got the idea from a planted tank website where a similar design was mentioned. It works by having a worm holding tank and using water to flush them into the aquarium.
I used a plastic bottle for the holding tank. First I drilled a hole in the bottom. Then I used a piece of pvc for the overflow. I drilled 4 holes in the pipe, but you could just cut it to set the water level. Then silicone the pvc in place.
Here it is set up. The "flush" is provided by my top off. So when the ato kicks on a few times a day, water is pumped into the worm holding bottle and flushes a few worms down the overflow and into the tank. I also added an air pump to keep the worms in suspension. So far it's been working great. Now my fish can have a couple extra worms throughout the day.
