The remote smart switch allows a larger pump to be used.

I purchased some extension plug and some wire to extend the length into my laundry room.

Anyone see a problem with this? The red/black extension plugs are only 2 wires. I'm not sure if the wire going to the smart switch is 3 wire? It's just sending 12v to activate the solenoid which turns on the switch.

I tested with a 12v power supply and hooked a 60W lamp to the switch. Ran it for about an hour and no problems. No heat to the wires, plug or supply.

Anyone see a problem with this?

I'll give this a bump as I'm curious too, should work but I can't say for sure

I'm waiting on some PVC to dry. No-related to the electrical side of this project.

I'll be testing tonight or in the AM. It definitely worked with the lamp.

I'll keep updating. I may make a video or post in DIY. I wish I would have took video and more pics earlier.

Ok. A snag. Sort of.. the controller input has a slightly larger pin inside. So the connectors hole was too small. It didn't fit Thought I was done. Then I remembered I have a whole box full of guitar effect pedal power supplies and plugs/adaptors. I just tested on a lamp with the outlet in the fish room/mixing station room with a 12v power supply. The socket did light up.

Still cooking!

Should be able to test pumps tomorrow.

Attaching three pieces of heatshrink. On for each butt connector and one to cover both.

Ok. I couldn't go to bed until I tested it.

12v DC power supply to test. The AWC control also outputs 12v DC

Connected to the adaptor. (still trying to source this adaptor) the black wire(top of pic) goes behind the aquarium and through the wall into the laundry room/Mixing station where my power strip is located. The wires at the bottom of pic connects to the 12vdc power supply.

Don't judge my beat up laundry room wall. Built in 1970. The last room we haven't remodeled. I probably should have remolded before setting up a mixing station. ;Meh

Now for bed. Hope to water test with a pump tomorrow. Wish me luck.

@Derrick Picker follow along and let me know if you see any issues. I know you have some experience with cable extension etc. We discussed some other extensions on one of your videos.

Still on hold. Purchased this yesterday
