Autoaqua Smart ATO users beware

I've had some issues with my diy ato so I attempted to use an Autoaqua Smart ATO that I bought used from the dry goods forum on here. Well... I couldn't get it to initialize and though it might be because the clear section of the wet side had scratches. So in an attempt to remove it I found the inside magnet was very rusted. You know what that means... if saltwater gets in to rust the magnet then the rust gets out into your tank.

This may or may not be the fault of the manufacturer. If you've seen the thread on Vinegar the Pump Killer, it could be the use of vinegar to clean the wet side. However, the plastic ring popped off fairly easily so I'm not sure how well those things are sealed. Just a heads up to people with this ATO.
