I bought a DOS to so automatic water changes so my question is do you guys have water going in the same time its pulling it out? Also so you have the out take in the sump with the intake ?(The hose that is taking water out and the hose that's putting water back in) Or do you have one in sump and one in take.Thank you guys in advance.

Mine is setup to run at the same time. Both tubes are in my sump. Tube which takes old saltwater out is in the first chamber (drain from the tank) and the tube that puts new saltwater in is in the return section of my sump.

Thank you that makes alot of sense

I have mine going at the same time and in the sump. One thing to watch is the input and output. I had one pump putting in less then taking out and lowered my salinity in the tank below 1.021 before I realized it. Had a bad or worn out tube, but once I replaced the tubing it has been working fine. I think the DOS was less than 3 months old when it happened. So check salinity weekly now.

Had same issue? I was so excited to get it hooked up I was doing a week of 31 gallon a day water changes. Had not done one in 6 months so wanted to do a 50% change in first week. I caught when my ph. shot up to 8.7 because I use kalkwasser for auto top off. More water was going out then being replaced and ATO was making up the difference. Dosed vinegar every 4 hours till back down to 8.4. As an aside I run the waste water to my two 33 gallon Biocube quarantine tanks...with a overflow in each tank that drains old water from cubes:) Love the auto water change...worth every penny!!!
