I just recieved my avast ato.

Question: when will the pressure tube turn on? I had to submerge the tube 2" to get the light to turn off. The water level has fallen nearly 1" and it hasnt activated yet.

Mine kicks on/off as soon as it lets air into the tube or when the water level seals the pressure switch. Sounds like you have a loose connection between your air line and the black box that it plugs into. I had to reseat that white connector so that there was no air leaking into it so the switch would be sensitive. Did that once two years ago, been working perfectly ever since.

After checking tubing, try removing some water to see if you can get it to kick back on, then slowly add the water you removed back to see where it turns on. It shouldn't require that much loss to trigger the system.

Mine has never needed the tube opening to be exposed to air to trigger,
